Created by a pediatric dietitian specializing in picky eaters who’s helped 1000s of families enjoy peaceful mealtimes and picky eater wins in just a few weeks

Start seeing progress with your picky eater in just a few weeks

Picture this: Another dinner, another uneaten plate. Your child pushes away anything green, demands the same three “safe” foods, or refuses to even sit at the table. You’re exhausted, anxious about their nutrition, and feeling like you’ve failed as a mom. You’ve tried every trick—hiding veggies, bribing with dessert, scouring blogs for answers—but nothing works. The guilt is crushing, and you’re worried this picky eating phase isn’t just a phase… (in my experience with clients, it’s not a phase.)
You’re not alone, and you’re not failing. I’m Thalia, a pediatric dietitian with a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, single  mom of two, and the expert who’s helped thousands of families turn mealtime chaos into calm. I’ve been where you are, and I created the Picky Plate Academy to give you the tools, support, and confidence to help your child thrive—without the overwhelm or the hefty price tag of private coaching.

The Cost of Doing Nothing Is Too High

Every mealtime battle chips away at your patience and your child’s relationship with food. The longer picky eating goes unaddressed, the more it impacts:
  • Your child’s health: A limited diet means they’re missing key nutrients for growth and development.

  • Your confidence: Constant rejection at the table makes you second-guess every parenting decision.

  • Your family’s joy: Mealtimes should be about connection, not conflict, but right now, they’re a source of stress.

You’ve tried free tips, Pinterest recipes, and hoped they’ll “grow out of it,” but those quick fixes leave you more frustrated, confused, and wondering if you should just give up and serve them whatever they want. Without a clear, proven plan, you’re stuck in a cycle of frustration and exhaustion. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Imagine Mealtimes Like This Instead

With the Picky Plate Academy, you’ll transform mealtimes in as little as 2 weeks. Picture this:
  • Your child allows a ‘disliked food on their plate, or maybe even touches it without a meltdown.

  • You sit down to dinner feeling calm and confident, knowing exactly how to respond when they say “eww.”

  • Mealtimes become a time to connect, laugh, and enjoy your family—without the stress or guilt.

  • You’re armed with practical strategies that work, so you never have to Google “picky eater help” again.

You can’t fix 3 years of picky eating overnight, but with the right strategies, you’ll start seeing progress in just a few weeks—just like my one-on-one clients.

“Thalia’s ideas completely changed my mindset. My 7-year-old is now eating chicken and spaghetti bolognese with meat sauce! I’m so much more confident, and we have no more meltdowns over food.”
— Mel Gmeiner, mom of a 7yo

FAQs

When I work with clients, we start to see progress (not perfection) in the first few weeks.

Remember, once you’ve got a new strategy, it’s up to you to implement it consistently (which you will cuz I know you want to see results!)

I know from working with clients there are always nuances and more questions which is one of the reasons I’m holding monthly zoom calls for “mini coaching” to help keep you accountable and consistent (two hallmarks for success.)

Just remember that picky eating cannot be solved in one month. Even clients who have me all to themselves work with me for 5 months in my one on one program to ensure their long term success.

This is a great place to start because:

→ You’ll have access to my online courses with foundational tools to help you get started right away
→ Expand your knowledge with more strategies and fine-tuning with the Picky Plate Academy Strategy Toolbox (I’ll be adding new tools and answers to this based on questions you ask)
→ You’ll get to join me live in the monthly zoom calls for “mini coaching”

If you get to the point where you do need more help, there’s a place inside the Academy where you can book a discovery call with me to chat about personalized coaching, but the Academy gives you a great place to try yourself first and also get to know me through the zoom calls.

Awesome! When the Academy opened I sent an email to everyone who bought a course from me in the past with a special coupon to join as a founding member as a thank you for trusting me first. When you join the Academy you’ll get access to all the courses (even if you only bought one of them.) And you’ll continue to have access to the course you bought.

Just like any membership, you can cancel when it’s no longer serving you.

Inside the Academy, there’s a section called “manage your subscription preferences” and you can cancel or modify anytime.

Remember this: yes, you can pay month to month for convenience BUT this is an ongoing journey with your child. Picky eating isn’t solved in one month, even my clients sign up to work with me for an extended period of time to ensure their long term success.

Keep an eye on your inbox as I’ll send you a questionnaire after you’ve been in the Academy for 14 days to track your progress.

The short answer is no.

The detailed answer is: I’ve created the Picky Plate Academy to help more parents by providing a lower barrier to entry in terms of cost and commitment.

Coaching with me isn’t cheap and that’s because I offer a premium service where clients not only have periodic coaching calls, they can message me anytime in our private chat for support when we’re working together.

The Picky Plate Academy offers you access to a growing collection of more specific tools and strategies to support your child with confidence, without the commitment of coaching.

The monthly “mini coaching” training sessions also offer you a taste of coaching while being able to interact with me and other parents who get it, as well as ask me questions.

Inside the Picky Plate Academy Strategy Toolbox is a growing collection of deep dive video and audio tutorials on a number of topics including neurodivergence.

The Toolbox library will grow based on member questions which will no doubt include questions from parents of neurodivergent children. I support a lot of neurodivergent families in my private practice and will endeavor to share my expertise inside the Academy to help your family too. That said, more complex cases, as you may expect, will see the best results from personalized support (see the answer questions 2 and 5.)

The Academy is still a great place to start because if you do want to pursue coaching with me, this gives you a taste of what to expect.

Great question, what I tell any family who works with me, particularly in the group setting is this:

“The strategies are applicable to kids of various ages and when I share a tool I’ll give guidance for implementing it with younger and older kids. The way you talk to an 18 month old is different than a 4yo or a 9yo.”

The age ranges I work with are from 14months (youngest client) to 15yo. As the Toolbox grows you’ll find more age-specific strategies and case studies.

What parents are saying...

Before working with Thalia I feared it wouldn’t work for me! It was scary placing my trust in someone to help me without “knowing” my child. My 2yo had a very limited diet and was unwilling to try new foods. She’d have meltdowns at meals, push her plate away and scream. Mealtimes were extremely stressful, and I dreaded sitting at the table with her…

My daughter is more willing to touch and try new foods. She’s tried green beans, peas, beef, even dipped pasta into sauce, and ate chicken after months of not wanting it!! She shows more interest in food and most dinners are calm, relaxed, and even fun now. Not only did Thalia help lighten the emotional load, she gave us the tools and confidence to continue this journey with our daughter.
Datevig Tegeleci
Mom of 2yo
Since working with Thalia my daughter is so much more willing to try new foods! I’m parenting my 7yo neurodivergent kiddo alone and I’ve searched everywhere for someone to help with her picky eating. Before working with Thalia, she was demanding the same few foods on repeat and I didn’t know how to break free from her limited diet of sausages and chips.

One of my goal foods was meat in non-sausage form. With Thalia’s support and guidance, I’m amazed that she’s consistently eating chicken and spaghetti bolognaise with meat sauce! I’ve seen so much improvement in what she’s willing to try, she’s even developed a tasted for carrots and is much more interested in food in general.

Thalia’s ideas to engage my daughter with food and how to communicate with her completely changed my mindset. I’m so much more confident talking to her about food, we have more meltdowns or fights about food being on her plate.

Mom of 7yo
Thalia’s approach is very appropriate and natural. The strategies helped reduce the stress for me and my son at mealtimes. Now mealtimes are enjoyable for all of us and my son’s very open and willing to try new and different foods.
Danaila & Robert Moe
Parents of 14mo
Thalia’s approach helped us think outside the box to tackle this problem and we loved the practical tools and strategies from the calls, and also the extra voice notes and video demonstrations. Thalia is exceptionally knowledgeable and the energy, passion, and fun she brings are contagious. So grateful for all we’ve learned and accomplished and excited to continue building our skills and implementing the tools.
Ana and Tim
Parents of twin 2yos
Before working with Thalia my 10yo daughter was a super picky eater, had major meltdowns about food, snacking was a nightmare, she was fixated on sweets, and I was a short order cook. These problems had gone on for so many years and we were at our wit’s end, very concerned about her eating habits, and her relationship with food now that she’s almost a tween...

Now after only 3 months, she rarely has any meltdowns and eats more variety. Thalia helped us set up a routine for meals that respectfully involved our highly capable 10yo. We’re now having peaceful family meals and there’s so much more trust and closeness in our relationship. I used to have anxiety before she got home from school — now I’m waiting at the door with a hug.

Thalia helped us so much with suggestions I’d never have thought about. I thought I had tried everything, but nope your tips and support proved me wrong!
